The 101st birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children Day-2021 was observed in Bangamata Sheikh Fojilatunnesa Mujib Science & Technology University (BSFMSTU) at Jamalpur in a befitting manner on Tuesday.
The birthday programs include cake cutting, discussions, milad and doa mahfils, cultural fun and drawing competitions.
Professor Dr. Syed Samsuddin Ahmed, Vice-Chancellor of the University, along with the Teachers and administrative personalities of the University paid tributes to the Father of Nation recalling his contribution in the independence.

He greeted his Bangladeshi counterpart Sheikh Hasina and Bengalis on the birth centenary of her father Bangabandhu in a video message played at the celebrations on the twin occasions of Bangabandhu’s birth anniversary and the golden jubilee of independence on Wednesday.
“I also want to congratulate everyone on 50 years of an independent Bangladesh, something that we are able to celebrate today because of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s vision of an independent and democratic country – one that was built on his love for its people,” he said.

Dhaka, Mar 17 (UNI) A ten-day program was organized at the National Parade Square to mark the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the golden jubilee of independence.
The event was organized by the National Implementation Committee to celebrate the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The event was officially inaugurated at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar National Parade Square on Wednesday (March 17) afternoon. President Abdul Hamid, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and President of Maldives Ibrahim Mohammed Solih attended the function.

At the age of 51 he established an independent nation, and at 55, he met his tragic death in a brutal assassination. Today is his birthday.
One hundred years ago, on 17 March 1920, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was born to the Sheikh family in Tungipara, Gopalganj. Exactly 50 years ago, in March 1971, he gave the call for freedom. In response to his call, the people rose up in the liberation struggle and 3 million people laid down their lives for independence won in just nine months. He built up the people for this fight and over the years, he built himself up too. This leader spent 14 years of his life in prison.
